Toni Galmés

Illustrator born in Manacor, Majorca, in December 1983.

Always very attracted to illustration and comics, he decided to study Fine Arts in Barcelona. After graduating, he earned a PhD in History of the performing arts and taught art and drama at the University of Barcelona and in Charlotte, North Carolina.

From 2013 he combines his work as a teacher with the profession of storyboarder for cinema and advertising, but from 2017 he enters the publishing world, first illustrating picture books for children, then with comics.

His first comic book, Molly Wind, was released in Spain in 2023 by Astronave/Norma Editoral and was translated in France by Dupuis. The first part of Quand la nuit tombe (Delcourt), a graphic novel entirely made in watercolor, was released in February 2024. The second part will be published at the end of 2024.

He is currently working on new projects for children in all genres: picture books, a chapter book, a middle grade novel and a new graphic novel.

His illustrations draw from many sources: from cinema and comics, but also from 19th and 20th century illustration.
