Edizioni Piemme was founded in 1982 on the initiative of Pietro Marietti, member of a family with a publishing tradition that goes back to 1820. The arrival, in 1999, of Elisabetta Dami with her twenty years of experience in children’s books, led to a period of substantial growth for the company.
Edizioni Piemme began its publishing activities in the field of religious books, an area that remains a fundamental part of the catalogue. Gradually the company’s attention moved towards fiction and non-fiction, with a clear focus on children’s books, a sector in which Piemme is a leading national player.
