Zara del Buono was born in Zurich in 1962. She studied architecture at ETH Zürich and the University of Arts in Berlin.
She has been a guest lecturer at different universities and is one of the founding members of the magazine mare, where she is a freelance author and edits the culture section.
Mare published her novels Canitz’ Verlangen (Canitz’ Desire, 2008), Big Sue (2010) and Hundert Tage Amerika. Begegnungen zwischen Neufundland und Key West (100 Days in America. Encounters between Newfoundland and Key West, 2011).
