Legends of the Two Kingdoms #01: The Dragon’s Cliff

The King of Daeron has fallen ill, and there is only one way to save his life: the kingdom’s finest knights and amazons must set out in search of a dragon scale. Ravenna, a humble villager, has decided to join the quest. Without fame or fortune, she must find a way to cross the unknown and feared Dragon’s Cliff. Along the way, she will encounter all kinds of knights, kings, sorcerers… and dragons that will change her life forever.

Ah, I see your faces. I know what you’re thinking:

“There goes the Bard again, talking about dragons!”

Yes, so what? I speak of dragons because once, when this inn was nothing more than a moss-covered stone, when kings were still brave and young peasants walked the roads in search of fortune, those fabulous creatures roamed the skies, sowing terror. Or perhaps… perhaps that is only what they want us to believe. For the tale I shall tell you tonight, by the firelight, is not a tale of terror. It is a tale of monsters, yes; but monsters that do not always appear so. And it is also a tale of bold maidens, of kindly kings, and of the most beautiful love story you could ever imagine.

Oh—silence falls. I have your attention, don’t I? In that case, listen closely, for our story begins long ago, in the distant kingdom of Daeron…
