Ferran Orta studied studied illustration in Tarragona (Escola d’Art i Disseny) and Barcelona (Escola de la Dona).
The majority of his work is focused on the publishing field (picture books, children’s and young adult novels, textbooks, etc.). However, he also combines his work as an illustrator with the collective mural painting project “A La Sombra,” recognizing that each of these disciplines complements and feeds into one another, enriching his personal imagination and creative language.
His work has been recognized with several awards and mentions, including:
-Premi Llibreter 2020 for Duna. Diario de otro verano (Duna. Diary of Another Summer).
-Selected for the Nami Concours (Korea) 2023 for The Cowboy’s Breakfast.
-Selected for Iberoamérica Ilustra 2024 for Ceramic Childhood.
