Sybil Volks is an author based in Berlin.
Her second novel, «Torstraße 1» (2022), a fictionalised account of the Jonass department store’s eventful history, was a bestseller and turned into a popular TV series («Das Haus der Träume» / «The house of dreams»).
She followed it up with her bestselling «Wintergäste» («Winter guests») and «Die Glücksreisenden» («Happy travellers»), two classic family dramas set on a fictional North Sea island that acts a microcosmic mirror of our own age.
Her latest novel, «Café Finito», is a vividly written tale set in Berlin’s most famous cemetery, the Dorotheenstädtische Friedhof.
