If we kill our soil, we kill ourselves
Drained and fertilized to death: once our soil is done, our efforts to change will be, too. Without fertile soil, there is no future to sustain.
Beneath our feet lie the grounds of our lives. We live on them, and from them. Establishing a millimeter of fertile ground can take up to three hundred years. Pre-industrial agriculture relied on the reestablishment of Humus. Modern agriculture treats our soil as mere substrate, mixing it with fertilizers and the excrements of our perverted industrial meat complex. For too long, the health of our soil and of the beings daily nourishing of its crops has not been a concern.
Florian Schwinn calls for an urgent change, so we can sustain.
