Don’t we all need a Mister Darcy?
Elizabeth Bennet has a problem. As one of five sisters and the daughter of a marriagemad mother, it’s not easy for Lizzy to stand her ground. Especially with her views on love, the intelligent young woman frequently causes controversy in 19th century England. This is also the case with the very attractive, admittedly arrogant Mr Darcy, who has his own beliefs.
Darcy prevents the engagement of his friend Bingley to Jane Bennet, Lizzy’s older sister, because he thinks the Bennets are not worthy of their status and the girls’ mother is socially unacceptable. Lizzy resents him and shows him that, but Darcy has long since fallen madly in love with her.
