Viennese star detective Johann ‘Jacket’ Winkler arrives at a crime scene that is puzzling the police. The victim was gruesomely murdered and then marked with the word CONFESS.
It is not so much the brutality of the murder that shocks Jacket, but rather that he knows the crime scene well – in fact, he has written about it at length in his unpublished novel. His novel that nobody apart from him has read and which, to make matters weirder, is entitled CONFESS.
Jacket suspects that this is only the first murder of many.
