What can philosophy tell us about each stage of our lives, from the cradle to the grave?
An Inspiration for how to reflect on your life
What does it mean to come into the world? We make distinctions and judgments even before we form concepts, speak or pass judgments. We fall in love and realize that life is finite. All of this can be philosophically examined: Do we ever develop a clear self? Why is ‘meaning’ necessary? Can a life full of experiences and emotions even be described in words? But if we can only talk about some aspects of our lives, notions of rules and purpose start to falter because they only affect a part of our existence. This paves the way for self-examination, which promises greater inner freedom than chasing after goals and the search for meaning.
