Imagine your greatest dream coming true: finally owning a home that is entirely yours, idyllically situated on a hill with a fantastic view of a valley. Ines and Marco Winkler can hardly believe their luck as they hold the keys to their first home. Moving in with their daughter Emilia, they feel they have finally arrived as a family in their little kingdom within this newly built countryside estate. The Winklers quickly befriend their neighbors, especially a couple who takes an immediate liking to them.
But one night, Ines awakens with a feeling of being watched. Try as she might, she sees no one and finds no sign of intrusion. However, shortly afterward, she notices a shadow in the still-empty neighboring house and tries to dismiss it as stress from the move.
