The cat Marlene, a famous singer back in her time, wants to see the world. One night, the taxi shoe C’al-Zado takes her with him and together they dive into a world of exciting adventures in a nameless street, with the moon as their only witness.
With a direct, simple and evocative style, Mariasun Landa uses the fantastic binomial of Rodari to create this delicate story. A cat in the female role and a shoe, embodying the antihero, are the protagonists of this story, who are trying to fulfill a special dream: seeing the world. In an abandoned street, under the watchful eye of the Moon – the narrator’s all-observing ally, there is the encounter of Marlene and C’Al-Zado. In both their lives they had taken similar paths, however now they leave this past behind, longing to get to know and see the world. Together they embark on a journey full of fascinating, enchanting, and also sometimes dangerous adventures.
A book that transmits with intensity the feelings of the protagonists and offers humorous winks to the reader. A story for all ages.
