AN ALL TOO RELEVANT STORY ABOUT INTOLERANCE AND A TOWN THAT CAME TOGETHER TO COMBAT IT

After a small town is rocked by acts of intolerance, a boy finds himself at the center of an effort to make the longest paper chain ever seen – as a way of illustrating that the Holocaust happened, and its cost.  But his own family history and his own culpability in the acts must be reckoned with, in story that mixes Gordon Korman’s trademark humor with an important message about coming to grips with the past in order to move forward in the future.

This powerful novel highlights that intolerance is not part of ancient history, but it’s something we have to work against every day. In order to emphasize this, the book will have resources and an author note in the back so that young people will be able to connect with the important messaging.
