Hannah is a young Amish woman from Pennsylvania; lives in a rural environment, isolated and rigid, which still today follows the rules and codes of the seventeenth century.
On the very day of his sixteenth birthday, and for the first time in decades, an outsider is allowed in, Daniel, a young man who has just arrived from Seattle to do a photo essay on the Amish.
Hannah immediately has feelings for him, and Daniel falls in love with her instantly. They start a relationship that breaks all the codes of the community.
When her family finds out, they forbid them to continue seeing each other and Daniel is expelled from the town. But Hannah decides to run away and go looking for him in New York, where she will face a new world, experience all kinds of dangers and learn lessons she will never forget.
