Community

Ever since humans have been around, togetherness and integrity have literally secured our survival – it’s time to rediscover true community.

What do you think of when you hear the word ‘network’? Insta, TikTok, etc.? It’s the paradox of our times: we are more connected than ever, but at the same time, Generations Y and Z especially are yearning for real connection. It’s no wonder, really. Humans have always needed humans – it’s in our genes.

In her new book, bestselling author Wurmb-Seibel explains what happens to our bodies, our minds and our social life when we lack company. She asks why it’s sometimes so hard to let new people into our lives, the psychology behind it, and how we can trick our brains to change our future.

“Community” also demonstrates that real connectedness is more important than ever, not just for us as individuals (because good social relationships are important for both our health and providing for our old age), but society as a whole. Many of the challenges we’re confronted with today can only be resolved if we try to reconnect across social divides – and if we make a real effort to champion community and integrity whenever we can.

There are lots of possible starting points, but we must do it together. United, we can change more than merely our own lives.
