A charming and humorous debut picture book about friendship, bravery, and taking chances, for fans of Jon Klassen and Matthew Cordell.
Lulu is a little mole who was taught to follow the rules, to dutifully do her mole work, and most importantly, to never venture out from underground.
But one day her adventurous, rule breaking friend Oscar has the big idea of building a flying contraption to explore the big wide world. Lulu too wants to know what lies beyond the mole tunnels—but can she muster the courage to defy what she’s been taught and go somewhere she’s never been before?
With heart, humor, and imaginative illustrations, this thoughtful picture book shows young readers that to forge a new path, one has to be willing to take a risk—and sometimes, break the rules.
