"Supera a El Exorcista en dramatismo y ambientación. Sobresaliente." - Javier Sierra

A novel of the bestseller kind, with the Church and paranormal phenomena taking the lead, and with a plot that transports us to various places around the world.

The book counts with the support of Javier Sierra, author of the world bestseller The Secret Supper:

“Never before have light and darkness coexisted in such perfect balance as in this novel. In drama and in scene-setting, ‘616’ outdoes The Exorcist. Outstanding.”

Father Albert Cloister, a Jesuit member of the ‘Wolves of God’, resolves to find out what is behind the double personality of the disabled Daniel, through whom the devil manifests himself. The psychologist Audrey Barret, who had lost a son under odd circumstances, initially seeks to help Daniel on the scientific side.

The novel features two distinct parts, and unfolds mainly in the United States. Two stories are intertwined in the first part: the story of a Boston psychiatrist treading an old mentally deficient gardener who suffers from appalling dreams, and a number of episodic sections on the investigations of a Jesuit priest, Albert Cloister.

The priest initially belongs to the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints, but later joins a special secret group set up by the Vatican and known as The Wolves of God. Its mission is to investigate all kinds of unexplained peculiar paranormal phenomena.

In the second part of the book, the young priest starts off an investigation using psycophonies that takes him from Boston to Israel to discover a text written by Judas Iscariot: the text unveils the struggle – and the result of the struggle – that arose many centuries ago between Good and Evil.

The discovery of a truth that does away with a whole system of ideas and beliefs leads the Jesuit to abandon the Church and to set out on a new life with no faith and no hope, sinking into vice and depravation.

However, a final heroic act by the man who is no longer a priest leads to the fulfilment of a prophecy enabling things to go back to the way they were before, or the way they were thought to be for many centuries.
