Speaking truth is our most powerful tool
Halfway through summer, Lisa receives a long-awaited visit. Her old friend Alex is back. She hasn’t seen him since he fled the village years ago. Against his father’s will, Alex starts to hang out with Lisa, to finish a raft they’d started building as children. Lisa realizes it’s not a game anymore for Alex and feels compelled to find out what really happened six years ago. She will have to rely on other people’s memories, on the real meaning of karate’s principles and on the importance of facing the truth.
There are twenty-one days left until Lisa’s karate show, until fireworks night, and until an anniversary Lisa knows nothing about.
There are also twenty-one days left until an event that one crackpot in the village declaims “the end of the world”.
