Today marks the beginning of the Leipzig Book Fair 2026: the most important book fair in Germany for the domestic market, after the Frankfurt one.
As part of the fair, the Leipzig Book Fair Prize is awarded in three categories—fiction, non-fiction/essay, and translation—making it a true recognition of contemporary literature. The prize is endowed with a total of €60,000.
The jury, made up of seven members, ensures a wide diversity of opinions, and its members are journalists and literary critics.
