Reading literacy and the pleasure of reading are important elements of a developed society. To strengthen these elements, the German Children’s Book Prize will be awarded for the first time in autumn 2021.
The award honors children’s book authors for readers ages four to eight. From a shortlist of ten titles, a children’s jury will select the winning work, which will receive 100,000 euros.
In this first call there are two books represented by the agency that compete among the finalists:
“Bestimmter sein” de Katja Reider (Hanser)
“Escape School” de Anne Scheller (Oetinger)
We will know the winner next October 16th.
