The writer Navid Kermani will receive the Thomas Mann Prize 2024, awarded by the City of Lübeck and the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts (Munich) in honour of the author’s narrative and essayistic work. Kermani‘s stories and novels are characterised by linguistic brilliance, profound literary reflections and a witty play on his own biography. The award ceremony will take place on 27 September 2024 at the Lübeck Theatre.

The Thomas Mann Prize has been awarded alternately in Lübeck and Munich every year since 2010. It is endowed with 25,000 euros.

Kermani has already received numerous awards, including the German Book Peace Prize.
