Helena Bonastre

Helena was born in Barcelona and started drawing at a very young age. During primary and secondary school, she drew comics that her best friends would read, and even then she discovered that what she liked most was to tell stories (and shock her readers a bit with them).

She also loves reading and that was the reason that prompted her to study Humanities at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Later, after finishing her degree, she moved to London and took a master’s degree in character animation at Central Saint Martins.

Since then, she has worked as a cartoonist and traditional animator for international films and commercials, handling aspects such as storyboarding, illustration, concept design, and animation. She is also involved in commercial and editorial illustration and has illustrated for international and national magazines, as well as having published with Spanish publishers.
