Nastja Holtfreter was born in 1977 in Berlin, where she still lives with her husband and two daughters. After studying graphic design, she first worked in a media agency. There she developed and animated numerous characters and illustrations for children’s television. She is now a freelance illustrator for postcards, stationery and book covers. But what she likes best is to develop her own picture books.
