Kim Bo-young (1975) is one of Korea’s most significant and influential SFF authors. Among a number of publications, highlights are Stellar Odyssey, to be made into a feature film by Oscar-winning screenwriter Eric Roth (Dune); and her story collection On the Origin of Species, long-listed for National Book Award in 2021. Kim’s work enjoys widespread popularity in Korea and has been praised by award-winning film director Bong Joon-ho (Oscar winner for Parasite), and she acted as a script advisor for Bong’s 2013 film Snowpiercer.
