Julya Rabinowich was born in 1970 in Saint Petersburg, and studied in Vienna, where she has been living since 1977. She is a writer and columnist, and worked as an interpreter for many years. Her first YA book, Dazwischen: Ich, was published by Hanser in 2016, and received, among others the Austrian Children’s and Young People’s Book Prize, and the Luchs prize (awarded by Die Zeit and Radio Bremen). Subsequent publications include Hinter Glas (2019), Dazwischen: Wir (2022) and Der Geruch von Ruß und Rosen (2023).
