Anna Baar was born in Zagreb (formerly Yugoslavia) and lives in Klagenfurt and Vienna. Her novels, short stories, narratives, and essays have received numerous awards. Her debut novel, “The Color of the Pomegranate,” spent three months on the ORF Bestenliste (ORF Best Books List), and her novel “Nil” was shortlisted for the Austrian Book Prize in 2021. In 2022, she received the Grand Austrian State Prize, and in 2023, the Brothers Grimm Prize of the City of Hanau.
