Valeria Gordeev was born in 1986 in Tübingen, Germany. She works as a writer and illustrator.
Her literary work has received numerous awards and distinctions. In 2023, she won the prestigious Ingeborg Bachmann Prize at the 47th Days of German-Language Literature in Klagenfurt.
The Cicada Slips Out of Its Golden Shimmering Shell is her debut novel.
