Miriam Carbe, born 1967, has German and Nigerian roots and grew up in a family of women, all of whom kept diaries and wrote personal memoirs. After her mother’s death, she inherited several boxes of notebooks, the oldest dating back to 1908.
Miriam Carbe has three children and lives in Frankfurt am Main. She studied in Munich, London and Frankfurt, completed her training at the German School of Journalism, and has worked as an editor for Arte since 2011
