Matthias Göritz, born 1969, is a poet, translator and novelist who lives in Offenbach.
He has published the novel Der kurze Traum des Jakob Voss (The Short Dream of Jakob Voss, 2005), for which he received the Mara Cassens Prize, and Träumer und Sünder (Dreamers and Sinners, C.H.Beck, 2013) for which he received the Robert Gernhardt Prize.
His volume of poetry, Tools, appeared in 2012. In 2014, he was awarded the William H. Gass Award. He currently teaches at Washington University in St. Louis, USA.
