Magdalena Saiger, born in 1985, lives in Hamburg. She studied German literature and history in Berlin and Madrid and received her doctorate in history from the University of Hamburg. * Was ihr nicht seht oder Die absolute Nutzlosigkeit des Mondes* (What You Don’t See, or The Absolute Uselessness of the Moon) is her debut novel. The manuscript won her the Hamburg Literature Prize in 2020. In 2023, the novel was nominated for the Franz Tumler Literature Prize, the Droste Prize, and the Blogger Prize «Das Debüt» (The Debut). * Am Wasser das Haus. Eine literarische Ortsbegehung* (The House by the Water: A Literary Exploration of Places ) was published in 2025.
