Javier Zabala (León, 1962) studied Illustration and Graphic Design at the Oviedo and Madrid Schools of Arts. He has published books with prestigious publishers around the world and his work has been translated into 18 languages.
He also teaches illustration at universities, libraries and schools. In 2005 he was awarded the Spanish National Illustration Prize. In 2005 and 2008 he was selected for the Bologna Internationa Fair Award.
