We communicate virtually with each other in realtime and whenever we feel like it we can participate in the goings-on of family and friends all around the globe. Not only the advantages of the shift from analogue to digital forms of communication are here laid out by media scientist Gina Schad, but also the downside. Have we now become digitally dulled or does the Internet make us – in a different way – more empathetic?
