The Guadalajara International Book Fair is a unique and remarkable experience where visitors can discover a universe of ideas, words and culture. With Latin America as the Guest of Honor, in 2016 the fair celebrates 30 years of being in the vanguard of fairs and the most influential in the Spanish-speaking world.
The cultural presence of Latin America at the 30th Annual FIL Guadalajara represents an unparalleled opportunity for over 800,000 visitors to meet the region’s great authors, as well as those just finding their voices. The tradition and innovation of the region’s artistic and cultural expressions will be showcased at the Foro FIL, with nine nights of free shows, in addition to events at museums and spaces across the city, which will host a rich sampling of Latin American visual arts.
Mario Vargas LLosa, Nobel Prize in Literature 2010, said about the FIL Guadalajara: “I think we should enjoy the 30th Anniversary and wish the FIL to keep on celebrating year after year.”
