Maria Guitart

Maria Guitart was born in Barcelona in 1978. She holds a degree in Art History from the University of Barcelona and a certificate of Higher Technical Education in Illustration from the Massana School of Art and Design.

Maria began her career as an illustrator with the books Un tiesto lleno de lápices (“A flowerpot full of pencils”) and Algunos niños, tres perros y más cosas (“Some children, three dogs and more things”), both by Juan Farias and published by Editorial Cometa. She works mainly illustrating books for children. Her most recent work for an adult audience involved her illustrating El libro de las preguntas (“The Book of Questions”) by Pablo Neruda, published by Seix Barral. 

Currently, she combines her work as an illustrator with her job as editor of international fiction.
