Thomas de Padova, born in Neuwied am Rhein in 1965, studied physics and astronomy in Bonn and Bologna. He was a science editor at the Tagesspiegel and worked as a journalist in residence at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in 2014. His most recent publications with Hanser are Alone Against Gravity. Einstein 1914–1918 (2015), Nonna (2018) and Everything Becomes Number. How Mathematics Reinvented Itself in the Renaissance (2021).
