Mónica Rodríquez

Mónica Rodríguez was born in Oviedo in 1969 and has lived in Madrid since 1969. Graduated in Physical Sciences, she worked for fifteen years in a research center. In October 2009 she left her job at said center to dedicate herself entirely to Children’s and Young People’s Literature.

She has published more than forty books and has received several literary awards such as the Youth Award from the Pozuelo de Alarcón City Council, the Asturias Critics’ Award for Children’s and Young People’s Literature, the City of Málaga Award, the Ala Delta Award, the Anaya Award, the Gran Angular Prize, the Templis of the Temple of a Thousand Doors, the Edebé Prize for Children’s and Young People’s Literature… In 2018 she received the Cervantes Chico Prize for her literary career and in 2021 all her work was also been recognized with the Prize María Elvira Muñiz-Félix, awarded by the Gijón City Council. She won the Spanish National Children’s Literature Award in 2024.
