Maryse Pagé has made a career in the media as a researcher, much of it for children’s programmes.
Her first novel in a trilogy, “Ce livre n’est pas un journal intime” (Druide, 2013-2014), is on Communication-Jeunesse’s list of 100 must-read books for young Quebecers and Franco-Canadians. This trilogy will be adapted into a web series on Télé-Québec.
Her novel “Rap pour violoncelle seul” (Leméac 2020) was a finalist for the Governor General’s Award, the Prix des Libraires, the Prix Espiègle and the Prix Bernadette Renaud. It is currently being adapted into a TV series.
She is the author of the short story “Les papillons” in the collection “Les nouveaux mystères à l’école” (Druide 2020), a finalist in the Prix littéraires des enseignants.e.s de français 2021.
She received a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to write her novel “De son œil” (Leméac 2021), winner of the Prix Espiègle 2022. The author also won the Paule-Daveluy 2021 grant and created a collection of short stories with a Secondary 5 class.
As part of the Culture à l’école programme, she has been travelling around Quebec for several years, spreading the love of reading and encouraging young people in secondary schools to let their imaginations run wild.
