Lina Schwenk, born in 1988 in Bochum, initially worked as a nurse and in medical refugee aid after her training. She then studied medicine in Witten, St. Etienne, and Cardiff and has been working as a doctor since.
Her texts have been published, among others, in WDR and in numerous anthologies. With an excerpt from her novel “Blinde Geister”, she was a finalist at the Open Mike in 2022 and at the Alfred-Döblin Prize in 2025.
In 2024, she received the GWK Förderpreis for Literature for the unpublished manuscript. The novel is also on the shortlist for the 2025 Debut Prize of the Harbour Front Literature Festival.
