Lena Schätte, born in 1993 in Lüdenscheid, debuted in 2014 with the novel “Ruhrpottliebe”.
Over the following years, she worked as a psychiatric nurse in the Ruhr area until she began studying Literary Writing at the German Literature Institute Leipzig in 2020.
Today, she takes care of people with addiction issues in Lüdenscheid – and writes.
For an excerpt from the novel “Father’s Hands,” Lena Schätte was awarded the W.G. Sebald Literature Prize in 2024.
