Kai Michel, born in Hamburg in 1967, is a historian and literary scholar. His books are regularly on the bestseller lists.
With Carel van Schaik, he read the Bible as the ‘Diary of Mankind’; together they published ‘The Truth about Eve’, an award-winning analysis of the invention of gender inequality, and explained in ‘Being Human’ why we lead an existence in a state of emergency.
Michel wrote the bestsellers ‘Die Himmelsscheibe von Nebra’, ‘Griff nach den Sternen’ and ‘Das Rätsel der Schamanin’ with Harald Meller.
He lives as an author in Zurich and the Black Forest.
