Chris Riddell

Chris Riddell is a celebrated British children’s book author, illustrator, and political cartoonist who served as the UK Children’s Laureate from 2015 to 2017. Born in South Africa in 1962, he moved to England as a child and studied illustration at Brighton Polytechnic. He is known for his award-winning books like the Goth Girl and Ottoline series, and his political cartoons for The Observer. Riddell has won three CILIP Kate Greenaway Medals and is a champion for reading and literacy.
