Timo Kümmel has lived and worked as a freelance illustrator and artist in Berlin since 2009.
He graduated from the Ferdinand-Braun-Schule in Fulda with a diploma in design, trained as a journeyman wood sculptor in Bischofsheim an der Rhön and studied painting and graphics for two years at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Karlsruhe. Numerous book covers and illustrations bear witness to his creative spirit. In 2011 and 2015 he was awarded the prestigious Kurd Laßwitz Prize for the best science fiction graphic design, and in 2018 the Vincent Prize for the best horror graphic design. His illustrated book VORSEHUNG was honored with the TEMPORAMORES Award 2018.
