Melanie Garanin, born in 1972, studied animation in Potsdam-Babelsberg and has illustrated numerous children’s and young adult books for many different publishers. She drew all eight volumes of the ‘Pippa Pepperkorn’ children’s book series by Charlotte Habersack for Carlsen Verlag. However, since she started working on her first graphic novel in 2017, she has called herself a comic artist and would prefer to do nothing else.
