Judith McQuoid was born in Ireland but spent a lot of her childhood in Texas and England after her family emigrated during the Troubles. She studied English at Queen’s University in Belfast and worked as a high school teacher for nearly twenty years.
She’s been married to Colin for 29 years, and they have two almost-grown-up children. They moved back home to Northern Ireland over ten years ago. Now, she’s often found scribbling at her desk, or strolling hedgerowed lanes with her collie dog, Dexter.
Her first middle grade novel, Giant, was published by Little Island in March 2025.
