Harald Meller

Harald Meller, born in Olching in 1960, is one of the world’s most prominent archaeologists. As the state archaeologist of Saxony-Anhalt, he rescued the Nebra Sky Disc from criminal circles at considerable personal risk.

As director of the Museum of Prehistory, he enchants a huge audience with exhibitions, books and media appearances. He is currently also acting director of the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Harald Meller organised the first international exhibition on the archaeology of war. He lives in Halle.

Together with Kai Michel, Meller wrote the bestsellers ‘Die Himmelsscheibe von Nebra’, ‘Griff nach den Sternen’ and ‘Das Rätsel der Schamanin’.
