Dorit Linke was born in 1971 in what was then the German Democratic Republic. She studied landscape planning at the Technische Universität Berlin and has also lived in Manchester, Lübeck, and Glasgow. She is a member of Autoren helfen, an organization committed to humanitarian and social issues.
Her novel Jenseits der blauen Grenze was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in 2015 and has been assigned in schools and adapted for the stage; it will be published in September 2021 in English by Charlesbridge Publishing as Beyond the Blue Border. She is affiliated with the Friedrich Bödecker Circle and is the founder of onleli, a platform for online readings by German-speaking authors of books for children and young people.
