Annett Gröschner, born in 1964 in Magdeburg, has lived in Berlin as a writer since 1983.
She became especially well known for her novels «Moskauer Eis» (2000) and «Walpurgistag» (2011). Most recently, her bestselling book «Three East German Women Get Drunk and Found the Ideal State» (2024), co-authored with Peggy Mädler and Wenke Seemann, was published by Hanser.
Annett Gröschner has received numerous awards, most recently the Berlin Grand Art Prize (Fontane Prize), the Klopstock Prize, and the Mainz City Writer Literature Prize from ZDF, 3sat, and the state capital Mainz.
