ADAL AT THE MADRID BOOK FAIR
|
ADAL · Asociación de Agencias Literarias (Literary Agents Association) is presenting itself in public for the first time next Thursday. The presentation will take place within the framework of the 2010 Madrid Book Fair. ADAL was founded in 2006 by seventeen Spanish literary agencies in order to create a collaborative space of their own. ADAL currently has 26 member agencies, accounting for 86% of the country's working agencies. ADAL is taking advantage of the Madrid Book Fair, held each year for two weeks, in order to present itself for the first time to the media and to public opinion. In order to mark the occasion ADAL is publishing the results of a study on the work and the economic potential of Spanish literary agencies. Over the course of 2009 the thirty Spanish literary agencies created business to a value of € 90,763,000 and provided employment for 250 people. To this may be added a large number of freelance workers and small and medium services companies that benefit from the work of the agencies. This small but active guild thus represents a substantial economic contribution to the turnover of the Spanish publishing industry. From the study it can be concluded that in 2009 the agencies represented 1573 authors, and from abroad 547 publishing houses and 236 agencies. To this should be added their significant contribution to intercultural relations. Pabellón Carmen Martin Gaite | Feria del Libro | Do 10. Juni - 18:00 h Link: Who is ADAL?
